Cindy Wang began her violin studies at the age of five and has built an accomplished career as both a performer and educator. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from the Central Conservatory of Music in China, where she developed a strong classical foundation and performed with several prestigious orchestras, including the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, and China Women’s Philharmonic.
Ms. Wang later earned her Master’s degree in Violin Performance from Southwest Texas State University in the United States. Throughout her musical journey, she has studied under distinguished musicians and educators, including Professor Zhenshan Wang of the Central Conservatory of Music, Dr. Claire Chan of The Juilliard School, Dr. Lynn Ledbetter of Southwest Texas State University, Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, former Concertmaster of the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra, and Yoko Moore, former Assistant Concertmaster of The Cleveland Orchestra.
In addition to her international training, Ms. Wang has performed with numerous respected orchestras and ensembles throughout the United States, including the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Mid-Texas Symphony Orchestra, Canton Symphony Orchestra, and other regional ensembles.
As an educator, Ms. Wang is known for her engaging, disciplined, and student-centered teaching approach. Her instruction emphasizes strong technical fundamentals, including rhythm, intonation, tone production, and musical interpretation, while also fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Ms. Wang believes that music education plays an important role in overall cognitive and personal development. Her teaching philosophy focuses not only on technical excellence, but also on cultivating curiosity, discipline, emotional expression, and artistic appreciation in young musicians.
Ms. Wang resides in Poolesville, Maryland with her husband and son, who is also a violinist and a student in the Poolesville High School Magnet Program. As a family, they enjoy attending concerts, exploring museums, and participating in the vibrant arts community throughout the Washington, D.C. area.
